Foreign Grand Lodges Recognized by the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan

A Grand Lodge is the governing body of Freemasonry in a particular territory, where territory is usually understood to mean a country or state.

The Grand Lodges listed on this page are recognized by the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan. “Recognized” in this very specific Masonic sense of the word means that the GLK considers them regular in its practice of Freemasonry, as they were formed, and that it is happy for members of these Grand Lodges to attend its own Lodges.

Some countries have multiple Grand Lodges within their territory, but as a rule, the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan only recognizes one Grand Lodge per country/territory. There are exceptions, however, and it does recognize two Grand Lodges in certain territories, such as states in the United States, for specific and historical reasons. It should be noted, however, that when the GLK recognizes two Grand Lodges in a given territory, both Grand Lodges have amicably agreed to share the territory, although they remain separate and sovereign entities in their own right.

Freemasons wishing to visit a lodge of any of the recognised Grand Lodges listed on this page should contact the Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan for concrete recommendations. Members should also note that if a Grand Lodge is not listed on this page, its lodges cannot be visited.

All members should remember: It is important that no member of the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan attempt to contact any of the Grand Lodges listed on this site by any means (including telephone or email) until they are on their premises. This is a breach of Masonic Protocol.

Members of other Grand Lodges should also be aware of this and note that all correspondence received by the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan will only be responded to through its Grand Secretary/Grand Chancellor.
